We were saddened to hear of the death of John Dickson-Simpson, one of our longest-serving members, and our thoughts and best wishes go to his widow Ebba.
John Marmaduke Dickson-Simpson (26 Dec 1932 to 29 Apr 2018) devoted his life to improving road transport safety and efficiency. He was a writer, editor and technical inventor who wrote a book and authored and co-authored articles and letters from the 1970s to the late 1990s, and it was largely due to his efforts that side-guards became compulsory for lorries.
John joined the Pembridge Association soon after it was founded and became active in dealing with planning issues. He remained a supporter and much appreciated member for the rest of his life. His wife, Ebba Dickson-Simpson, served the Association as Hon Treasurer and Hon Secretary 2012 to 2017.
